Banter go to Hevy Music Festival
This weekend the team headed down to Hevy Music Festival in Kent to cover the event for Banter Zine. We drove down late Thursday afternoon during work and arrived at around 11pm. We then proceeded to purchase far too much BBQ food and wine to last the weekend from the local Tesco (Head’s up – the Tesco Finder iPhone App gets O stars from me!).
After that and seeing half the Kent countryside looking for an open Tesco we set about our work for the weekend, meeting up with some of the world’s best metal and punk acts for a chat – it’s a hard life at Banter – but someone’s got to do it. We bumped into some old friends – such as the lovely Amy Reeder who left Banter to go to work for a major alternative label – and her awesome partner in crime Ollie from Blackstar. We also chatted to everyone from Feed the Rhino to Andrew WK to Vinnie Caruana. You’ll be able to check out all of the interviews over on Banter Zine later this month.
The highlights of the weekend of the Banter crew were Andrew WK talking about his music as hammer that smashes the nail that is life, Descendents, Converge, Hundred Reasons, Mallory Knox, Feed the Rhino and Landscapes.
For the meantime, however, here’s a selection of the photos we took over the weekend:
